There being no objection, it was so ordered. Representative Johansen moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 106(STA) be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading, and placed on final passage. There being no objection, it was so ordered. CSHB 106(STA) was read the third time. Amendment No. 1 (title amendment) was offered by Representative Joule: Page 1, line 1: Delete "village public safety officers" Insert "grants to nonprofit regional corporations, and, in certain situations, to municipalities with populations of less than 10,000, for village public safety officers in rural areas; defining 'rural area' for the purpose of the village public safety officer program; and authorizing municipalities to accept grants under, and contract with respect to, the village public safety officer program" Representative Joule moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Doogan objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted, and the new title follows: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 106(STA)(title am) "An Act relating to grants to nonprofit regional corporations, and, in certain situations, to municipalities with populations of less than 10,000, for village public safety officers in rural areas; defining 'rural area' for the purpose of the village public safety officer program; and authorizing municipalities to accept grants under, and contract with respect to, the village public safety officer program." 2009-04-14 House Journal Page 0959 The question being: "Shall CSHB 106(STA)(title am) pass the House?" Representative Joule later gave notice of reconsideration of the vote on CSHB 106(STA)(title am), and reconsideration was taken up then.
